Dallas cuisine reflects the diversity of the city’s residents, from longtime locals to brand-new arrivals.

We all have our favorite spots that remain staples in our restaurant rotation, but it’s always exciting to explore the latest and greatest new additions. Read on to learn about some of the standout openings that happened in June and those to look forward to in the coming months. Whether you’re looking for your favorite Italian dishes, classic Southern comfort food, spicy Mexican cuisine, or juicy Texas steaks, all your cravings will be satisfied with our list of Dallas’ hottest restaurants.

Manica

This Deep Ellum sports bar opened this summer as a place to serve burgers, wings, and non-standard dishes, including roasted marinated serrano peppers and crispy fried ribeye. Between games, you can take photos in front of graffiti art on the 30 TVs throughout the venue.

Culinary Dropout

Culinary Dropout is the first rooftop restaurant in the Design District, offering breathtaking views of downtown Dallas and Victory Park. Watch the games on the video wall, listen to tunes from the DJ booth, and eat sushi, sandwiches, Detroit-style pizza, and spicy vegan curry.

Smooth Sailing

This upscale restaurant opened in mid-summer on Beltline Road in North Dallas. Beloved local chef Omar Flores and the Marsh family wanted to create a restaurant with elegant cuisine in an accessible setting. The seafood-focused menu includes a full raw bar, grilled octopus, Texas redfish, and hearty steaks for those who don’t eat fish.

Doughbird

Head to Inwood Village for the new restaurant from Fox Restaurant Concepts (Flower Child, The Henry, Culinary Dropout). The first Doughbird in Texas boasts a variety of pizzas, from hand-stretched to Detroit-style (plus a gluten-free crust option), as well as pasta, sandwiches, and comfort food classics like chicken pot pie.
